Summary

City & Financial Global is pleased to announce its Private Markets: Regulation and Risk Management Summit.

The Summit is being held at a time when private markets are coming under increasing scrutiny from securities regulators and central banks as a result of concerns about the potential risks that may be building up in them. Private markets have enjoyed meteoric growth rate since the financial crisis, fuelled, at least to some extent, by the lighter touch regulatory regime that they enjoy in comparison to public markets. In recent months, the FCA, the Bank of England and the FSB have all made clear that private markets are a key focus for them in 2024.

Against this background, our forthcoming summit is very topical. Its objective is to provide participants in the private markets with insights into the thinking and focus of key regulators, as well as setting out best practice guidance on a number of critical areas where risk management approaches are likely to come under regulatory scrutiny in the future. We are delighted that Kate Collyer, Chief Economist, Financial Conduct Authority has agreed to deliver a keynote address at the Summit.
